	Diary Updates 1 April 2009. Allison's now been on dry-land for a week and is recovering well (and finally able to walk unassisted). Now it's time to prepare for the World Tour, and yes ... start training for her next attempt to cross Bass Strait! 26 March. 7:30pm A live interview with Allison is imminent. She is aboard the Calypso heading for San Remo after completing 115km of Bass Strait. Following the interview - recorded footage of the last moments from the middle of Bass Strait will be playing. Allison is happy and healthy - just very cold and tired... stay tuned. 24th March. All my crew are now in Stanley (Tas) with me. The support boat "Calypso" arrived safe after a crossing in perfect conditions. Of course I'm hoping it'll be much windier for the return trip! My first training sail tomorrow. Hope to have some new video to show... 23rd March. Support Vessel "Calypso" left Portsea, VIC this morning to arrive Stanley, TAS tonight. Allison and Tassie and Boat crew fly to Stanley tonight. Best weather window still Thursday or Friday. 17th March. Passed my final exam - the VHF Operator's License. So now I can legally use my waterproof ICOM VHF radio to communicate with my team on the support vessel. 14th March. Rescued at Sea! Caught in a huge thunderstorm while training off Botany Bay, with lightning striking the water just metres away from her, driving rain that cut visibility to less than 20m and a change in wind conditions, Allison decided the most prudent course of action was to call up a nearby fishing boat "Centrefold" using her ICOM VHF radio and got a lift back to the beach. 13th March. Offshore trial with a support boat filled with her camera crew off Pittwater. Testing VHF communication with the waterproof ICOM handheld VHF radios and the boat. Coordinating her sailing distance and location with respect to the support vessel, and ensuring that all the crew had sufficient "sea legs" for being at sea and hopefully wont turn too green while on Bass Strait... etc etc. Some great video and photos from the day! Check her Gallery page at aus911.com. 10th March. Just completed Survival At Sea course in Mackay (QLD), survived category 5 cyclone Hamish at the same time! (Wish I had my windsurfer here!!) See pics of the cyclone on the Gallery page at www.aus911.com. 4th March. The Team check out the Calypso Fishing Boat at Sorrento in VIC. This 550hp 38' power boat will serve as my support vessel. After a quick test spin in Port Philip Bay at 22kn I think they'll have to work hard to keep up with me! 3rd March. Radio Operators Certificate completed. 26th Feb. Completed a Press Release.
